Samantha Ketsa, BFA

Samantha Ketsa (she/they) is an active artist, educator, and academic. Samantha is a creative partner with interdisciplinary organization Baker Miller Pink, and a company dancer and administrator with Corps Bara Dance Theatre. Originally from Amiskwaciy-wâskahikan (Edmonton), Samantha received her BFA in Dance with distinction from the University of Calgary; she spent nine years immersed in the Calgary arts community before returning to Edmonton in 2023. Samantha is a contributor for The Dance Current, and an educator specializing in tap, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, and coaching composition for youth dancers. Concurrent to her artistic practice, Samantha has pursued studies at the graduate level in counselling psychology, as well as gender and sexuality studies, mental skills training, and trauma studies. Baker Miller Pink has presented work with the support of DIY Theatre, One Yellow Rabbit’s High Performance Rodeo, Nextfest, and the Common Ground Festival. With partner Cayley Wreggitt, Samantha is an artist in residence at Leña Artist Research. Samantha’s artistic work is underlined by a social justice imperative in praxis, and a critical lens through which to explore the body’s holistic expressivity.
