Chiara Blackerman
Chiara has been dancing for 17 years in various styles, including jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, musical theater/novelty, and more. She began as an Instructor Assistant and Demonstrator before completing her mentorship at Shelley’s Dance Company in Edmonton. This experience prepared her for sharing her passion and love of dance with younger generations, both in schools and at studios. After graduating, she continued to work as an Education Assistant with ASD children and in Interactions classrooms.
Dance has given Chiara the opportunity to travel and train abroad. Her background includes training at Harbour Dance Centre (Vancouver) and Broadway Dance Centre (New York City), along with private lessons from Broadway Rockettes and Broadway cast members of the musical Hamilton. She has also attended the 1820 Dance Convention and View Dance Convention in Calgary, and performed at gigs like the NBA Basketball halftime shows.
Chiara has extensive experience working with dance teams, dating back to 2013 on the “Oasis of the Seas” cruise ship, where she performed a set of dances for the dinner and show portion. She also competed in De Panne, Belgium as an IDO Team Canada Dance Member. She dedicates her evenings to teaching in studios and has an ultimate goal of owning a dance studio of her own. Chiara remains dedicated to bettering herself and ensuring that everyone around her feels supported. She is so excited to spread her love of dance to kiddos all over Edmonton!
