Emily Armstrong

Emily is Alberta born but has danced her way around the world. She has had the privilege of sharing her art in Canada, touring the United States, and even a large hop over the pond to the United Kingdom. She spent her studio life at Shelley’s Dance Company in Edmonton, Alberta training in all styles under the mentorship of Shelley Tookey.

Upon graduation, Emily moved to California where she continued her performing arts studies at The Young Americans College of Performing Arts. She trained in voice, acting, musical theory and stage production. She then toured with the Young Americans professional company performing across the United States, and made her film debut as a principal dancer in the preliminary movie screening of Nicolette Sainas’ film Le Castle Papier, featuring the choreography of Stacey Tookey. Furthering her love of performing, she became a member of Sarah Dolan's Contemporary Dance Company, O2.

More recently, Emily has enjoyed working with students in her hometown mentoring them to find their own artistic potential, expression and voices. She joined the dancED team in 2020 and continues to share her knowledge and passion for the arts with young learners in the community.
